first, i am verry disappointed that landrover had not hold the termin for the german presentation of Freelander2.

second, it is not good that we can find no pictures of the basis Freelander2.
The www from the landrover-sides only shows typ HSE.

So can anyone send me some photos exterior and interior of the basic Freelander2 (German "E" typ)?

Sorry that i must write to you, so the German agency is not competent enough!

the pictures are from the Europe Typ "S".

The Typ "E" for Europe had no:
- Radiocontrol from Steering wheel
- boardcomputer
- Terrain response
- raining sensore
- front fog lamps
- 17" alu wheels (16")
- luggage cover
- cruise control
- automatic climate control

the price for typ "E" 30900.-€ typ "S" 34300.-€ incl 19% tax. So 3400.-€ Diff. for Germany

It seems that you are very lucky "out there" in the rest of Europe.

The E type of the Freelander 2.2 td4 here in Greece costs 40660€
And if you want the terrain response aka "S" type you have to pay 45000€

It's also strange that the codings are different between English and the rest of European market

If the new Freelander had a price tag of 35000€ with terrain response it would have been a great success considering the success of SUV of that price, here in Greece

BTW the Taro advertising it's also started here.

Wow. I gues i cannot complain about the Canadian pricing any longer. I have an i6 HSE ordered for delivery next month and it was priced at $53,000 Canadian dollars. That equates to about 35k Euro.

Compare with rivals top spec with options in same range with Subaru Tribeca , NISSAN Murano , low spec X3 and Lex RX 350 . Low spec price start exactly over NISSAN X-Tail top spec and compete with new RAV and CRV

It would be a nice topic to discuss the price differences but especially between North and South Europe there are a lot of factors affecting these, namely salaries and GDP.
For sure taxes in Scandinavia are higher but I suppose that you have the corresponding social benefits for that.
Salary wise for the middle employee in Greece you have an average of 1100-1300 euros and the VAT for most of the things is 19%. Housing rental for 100 sq. met. is approx. 700-800 euros depending of the region.
So you can imagine that 40-45000 euros for a car is a very high number.
Unfortunately the consuming society we are living with all the credits and loans that banks offer (with the appropriate gain) leads you to believe that you can buy a car of that price. And that's why in our days in Greece you see more SUV (mostly in the price tag of 30-35000 euros) than any other European country. Also through leasing you can see a lot of Cayenne around Athens!!!

Anyway I believe that the new Freelander is on purpose more expensive than the previous model, since it competes with BMW X3 instead of RAV or Xtrail

I was bitching and complaining because the americans were getting such a better price than us. They are paying around 30k Euro for the i6 HSE. That is list price!

The USD is a problem currency at the moment. 31% depreciation against the euro and almost 2 dollars to a pound. Prices are distorted using these exchange rates and in most cases become uncompetitive unless allowances are made to price the product for the local market.
