Land Rover experience days

When I bought my FL2 the dealer gave me a voucher for a Land Rover experience half day. I am interested to learn about driving on soft sand more than mud and uneven terrain. Does anybody know which of the centres would be best suited to this (or are they all fairly similar)? I'm in North Wales but don't mind travelling to any of the centres. I would ideally like to go and find the limits and techniques for not getting stuck and how to self rescue. At the moment I think we are being too cautious to avoid having to get the local farmer to come and tow us !
Thanks.

Don't think any of the UK Centres has the type of sand you're looking for. They should all be able to tell you the technique to use and which are the appropriate settings. The free 1/2 day voucher is only really designed as a taster as to what the vehicle can do rather than in depth training in off road driving techniques. That said, I know most Centres will up the level of training content if you specifically ask but they will also push you towards upgrading to a full day training course.

All the Centres are good in their own way, some have more natural obstacles and are suitable for more advanced techniques, others have more man made obstacles which may be better suited to more basic techniques.

I have done three, but would not recommend the Cheshire one. Found this to be an uninteresting course lacking in showing what the car can do. Honiton or Rockingham were fantastic though.

I thought there was a centre in Bala (Snowdonia) but it doesn't seem to be listed on the web site. Shame as that would have been my nearest.

Cheshire...

...

I've done the Cheshire (Beeston) centre and enjoyed it. Trouble is, like many, I've only done the one so can't compare to other centres.

The LRE is great fun - I took 2 mates & they both enjoyed it.

You need someone who's done >1 centre and can rate them usefully.

I think the Bala one is different in some way... I looked at that but when I rang to make the booking, I was told that they didn't take bookings for Bala & I would need to ring Bala direct. In the end I went with Cheshire, as it was the nearest at the time.
