Beggars belief

This to me, smacks of nothing more than lawyers out to make a quick profit and guilty perpetrators trying to duck the law through loop holes.
What next, it beggars belief it really does, why can't people accept that they have done wrong and take the punishment, it's no wonder the youth of today are out of control as their parents are too busy bending the rules all the time.

Read the story and see what you think.

Taz. I understand your frustration, but rules are rules for all, including the authorities. They stipulate what is right and what is wrong, so if they've not abided by their own rules, then it's not a loophole, the speeders haven't broken the law because the signs were not legal. The same goes for police traffic cars whose speed reading device calibration is wrong, Gatsos that are reading falsely, no different to any "witness" whose testimony is insufficient or inadmissable to convict. I get frustrated by the inequalities in the system, but it is what it is. The days of "it's a fair cop guv' are long gone.

I understand your points regarding calibration etc, for people to get off because a very clear and easy to read number does not comply with a particular typeface is sheer madness.

Far too much time and expense is wasted through a total lack of common sense in these matters and it will only get worse.

Yes the problem here is the spec laid down in law doesn't appear to be what was followed.

Common sense should prevail here, I have passed them many times and the font did not stop me from reading the signs, it's not as if it was in italic 'brush script' Confused

It is still perfectly readable and any claims should be thrown out.

You've hit the nail on the head. Until we start dealing with all offences of any kind equally irrespective of whose done it or ensuring we don't upset any particular minority etc. with common sense then this is what happens. Far too much Political Correctness and other stupidity.

Just been listening to people ranting about our local traffic warden. Apparently she was being totally unfair for asking that cars are moved off double yellow lines and that disabled drivers have their badges on show and with the time shown. I park where I should, therefore the traffic warden is just a nice lady doing a job!!

Rules are rules. You park legally Wiz, if everybody else (including disabled) followed protocol, and everyone was dealt with equally then we can't complain.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed this with the font on the variable speed signs, but from a distance the "5" on the fifty from a distance looks like a "6" many a time when they are active, I've gone through one displaying 60 then see the next one appears to be displaying 50 but as you get closer it is displaying 60 Question

It used to be a nightmare on the M42, one sign said 60, next one was 50, then back to 60. You were that busy checking the signs, you couldn't concentrate on driving and not crashing into the car in front in case the traffic had come to a standstill

CG. Profit shouldn't allowed in a country when there is so much want worldwide. All profits should be freely distributed amongst all the deserving causes in third world countries and minorities. Whistle

thats what happens the govt takes it and gives it out to the chavsand morons in social benefits, they spend it all on imported goods and horse meat.

So I have to borrow money and invest it in new farm systems to use up my capital allowances and save paying tax. sadly a new car isnt tax deductible. At work

Why don't the gov't give those on social benefits a reduction in benefits and replace it with a 'chicken only voucher' to spend on nutritious and home grown meat. If supermarkets accept the vouchers against other meat products they could be fined a year's profits so they will not dare to ignore. That would help you CG, make you a lot happier, and more receptive to caravan owners who push this legislation trough.
