As the car is new to you and you are going to the work of removing the diesel filter I would recommend going a bit further on dismantling and change nos 4 & 3 glow plugs whilst you are at it. It may stop some cursing next cold spell when the engine wont start! I have a post which will help you on 'how to'. If you test the glows afterwards and they still work just keep as spares for nos 1&2 which are easier to change. |

Mudflaps were easy. With wheels off, just two screws and a clip for the rears utilising existing holes, using one existing screw and one longer repacement screw. Fronts took a tad longer but not hard at all. Again, utilising existing fixings, you first remove the front plastic sill cover (just pulls off) and fit the metal bracket between the body and the wheel arch muck cover. Then, after fitting the 3 captive clips to the new bracket, attach mudflap with the 3 screws provided. Had to 'nibble' just a slight but of the wheel arch liner edge to expose the 2 top clips of the bracket to enable the screws to be fitted. I've notice on ebay that the pattern mudflaps for these cars do not include ths bracket and say that you can just screw the front flaps directly on. Seems a bit of a bodge to me though. Fredastaire, thanks for the tip but I think I'll just test the glow plugs while the filter is out and change only if needed. In my experience of fitting partial glow plug sets, there's as much chance of a new glow plug failing as one of the old ones.
