Anyone know the name of this type of needle, it has a silicone pipe attached to it to suck liquids from bottles but cant find anywhere that sells them, just wondered if it has a special name at all so I can do a better search for it?[/img] Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Looks like a medical device called a cannular. Might be wrong. Where did you get it from?

Bit of a long story, our company bought a second hand piece of equipment (from Germany) that basically sucks out liquid from a bottle and then fills a small plastic ampule with the liquid. We could do with a longer needle but we are not really sure what they are called and who makes them. I thought there might be some one on here that might might know something. I'll check out cannular. Cheers for that. Thumbs Up Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I think it is specifically for drawing up fluids.

The short bevel is typical of a spinal needle but the fitting is different.

My wife reckons it looks like an embalming cannula, she uses the ones for live people all the time but thinks as this has a metal/reusable connection it could be used for that. if you have no luck on the net ask your local undertaker Shocked

As there's no scale, how long is it, that will give us a better clue?

Thanks all for the replies. The tube is about 200mm long, the bevelled end attaches to a 3mm ID tube. Our supplier of phenol has changed over from 500ml to 1 litre bottles and the tube is too short. At the moment we are decanting the liquid which isnt really a problem. I've been looking at tubes but the problem is you need to purchase loads at once for a small fortune. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
