Financial value of the service record

Can anyone advise me of the value (£'s)of a service record on an 07 95k mile xs manual diesel Freelander 2 when trading in against a new replacement at a main dealer.

Long story but the car was main dealer serviced all it's life but now the owner cannot find the book.
My own feeling is that at that milage it would not make a lot of difference. The car is in excellent condition with recent tyres, front discs and pads and an oil and filter change at 88K
Thanks

The dealer will have all records if it was serviced as he says.

I would agree that at that age and mileage a dealer service history would not make much difference.

the value of the car would be based on the overall condition of the car.

Generally, the dealer will have a complete record of the servicing on their system. If you know the dealer, it shoud lbe easy to request them to print out a complete list of all serving, repairs etc.. which have been carried out by them. Hence, it is sufficient to prove that it has been properly serviced. '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

The dealer he's trading in with should have access to the service records and so all the information in the service book. So the loss of the book itself may not matter.

The dealer offering to buy the car is not the same as the original dealer and it has been serviced by several other main dealers in Southern England. The buy in offer was £8350 but that was when my friend thought he had the book.9He did but now? he has turned his house over looking for it. Is there a central record somewhere of main agents servicing a vehicle that could be used to produce a new one?

My expectation would be that there's a central record, but I don't actually know. A word with the dealer should sort it out.

Following the very helpfull posts I have found that the car was sold and had early servicing by Lancaster Land Rover and the later by Stratstones so I believe my friend has enough info to start a new if not complete record. Must say that both Lancaster and Stratstones could not have been more helpful. I thank all who replied with their help

When I bought my Approved FL2 in August 2011, i was told that there was no such thing as a centralised service record. The car had no service record book but had been serviced by the landrover service centre (where all 'Landrover Management' cars coming off their first year on lease get serviced ). An official 'duplicate service record book' was obtained by the selling dealer and it was sent off to be filled in and stamped. As such, I believe that it is posible to build up a service history as long as the previous dealers are known and helpful. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

As Pedro says I don't think there is a centralised service record but there is a centralised warranty record which dealers might be able to see.
