I think it was just a bit of a shock, when the wife uses it through the week urban, stop start she gets 29/30 mpg. When we picked it up 3 months ago the wife and I,we trundled back at 60-65 and it showed 48 mpg, with this trip i think i expected a bit more

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

Using miles run and fuel filled over the last 15000 miles my 07 TD4 manual has averaged 32.57 mpg. The best on a tankfull is 37.8 achieved on long runs 2 up with luggage. The worst on a tankfull is 27.1 probably 2 up, not a lot of luggage but short runs, lots of stops and starts.
I've seen higher numbers reported on the system but they are transient and seem to be the computer sorting itself out after a rest after filling up. Taking the milage and volume of fuel filled is the way to go to give accurate mpg.
3 up with luggage your mpg seems pretty normal to me.

be well pleased with that. had a BMW 1 Series, great on fuel 50-60mpg but the minute you strapped a bike rack on the back you could kiss good bye to those figures. on the way to caronwall with bike rack i got 40-41mpg so shoved them in the boot on the way back a week later and got 55-58mpg... we know hire bikes down there..

Just done the Alps (near Chatel) and back. c 1200 miles round trip, 2 adults, 2 kids, with kit. Roof bars on but only put ski clips on in resort. Average 31 mpg according to OBC. Cruising autoroutes at indicated 80 mph, rest was up and down mountains.

PS also used the auto tolling - SANEF will sell you a tag; takes all the hassle out.

I did a trip to the midlands yesterday, 100 miles each way, motorway and 15miles of A roads at the end and ours did 42.

The return journey, on cruise at 70, same speed and traffic only 38. You will get anomalies as stated down to seasonal fiuel, which garage you filled up at, load, a/c on or not, temperature, and even road surfaces. Bumpy roads are terrible for economy. Your tyres ok? A couple of tanks with some Millers in could just give you a bit better economy on long runs Thumbs Up

Last week a return to fort William we average 36, fully loaded, 80 on the motorways, travelling on snow covered mountain passes etc. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
Family's: 2009 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway
