Spell Check on Posts.

On my old computor when posting or replying to a post it was automaticaly spell checked, but on the computor which I now have this does not happen.
I mentioned it to Martin and he informed me that spell check is not part of the forum software but a function of my computor.
The computor runs on Windows 7 and I should be grateful if one of you young (or old ) computor experts out there could explain to and old duffer like me (73) in words of one syllable how to activate this function on the forum so I do not have to keep refering to my OED as I like to use correct English if at all possible.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Dependent upon what browser you are using, I use IE9 but it's backward compatible and using 'iespell'. It is an addon that installs into the browser toolbar.

http://www.iespell.com/

To use it you right click within the webpage, reply box or whatever and a spellcheck option is available to click, or click on the 'iespell' in the toolbar of the browser.

Chrome has a built in spell checker in it's options, Firefox, Opera etc have their own addons

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the info, after a couple of attempts I have successfully installed Speckie 5.9 and my spelling from henceforth will be immaculate.

Cheers,

Funny thing spelling. I can type away spelling everything correctly without even thinking about it, but many people can't do that. Peoples' brains work in different ways. Interestingly, I struggle to remember more than one or two of the words of most songs, way less than most people.

Noticed a distinct improvement in Bill's spelling since he installed the spell checker! Thumbs Up 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Two things that really annoy me are "of" instead of "Have" - as in "I should of known better to start this"; and "for free" instead of "free" or "for nothing".

Apostrophes in plurals, of course and "confectionary". Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne
