Freelander 2 09 plate GS to 62 plate GS facelift model

Just bought a new to me (pre reg with 1K on it) 2013 spec FL2 in GS spec to replace my 2009 GS one.

I've taken the tow bar off to put on the new one (hope it fits) and obviously I'll need to get it enabled in the system etc...... But the thing that did strike me is the spec changes??...

My old one has auto lights / auto wipers / headlight wash / fog lights / 160 BHP / light on van mirror etc etc....
the new one has done away with this lot and gives you leather seats in place?.. is this a fair swap???

Just waiting to get it see how it goes.... does give better MPG, lower tax and fancy LED headlights Smile

Anyone any comments / thoughts Thumbs Up

Welcome to the forum. Thumbs Up

What colour did you choose? I would miss the automatic lights/wipers, but leather is a big bonus in my opinion.

Any pictures Question

You don't mention whether the new on is a TD4 (150bhp) or SD4 (190 bhp), either way both should give a better fuel consumption than your old 160 bhp.

Tow bar should fit but as you say will need to be enabled.

Agree with the spec changes, I did a comparison to bring the spec on a 13MY XS to that of my 11MY XS and the cost was about £1200 over the current price for an XS.

Thanks Guy's.. Its Black and the TD4 so 150 BHP...

yes, got to say.. dashing for the wiper swich when splashing through water had become a thing of the past and I will miss that...
Not sure I'll miss the headlights though as they would always come on in tunnels and usualy on full beam... the bloke in front always thought there was some issue Laughing

See how it goes... I know my 0-60 will not be as fast Smile

Think you'll find that the 150 bhp will be just as fast if not faster from 0-60. Certainly not noticed any difference when I made the same change and my fuel consumption is about 5mpg better. Also road tax is lower for the 150bhp (providing it's a manual).

I'm sure you'll enjoy the 13MY and will quickly get used to the new controls for lights and wipers! Lost count the number of times i've washed the rear window instead of the front when using the works 13MY.
