United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black
So Confused in what to buy..HELP

Now I am confused what to get, been looking at 3 vehicles Fr2 td4 SX full HSE spec or very near and a HSE.
These are 09 with 55k milage and priced at 17k ,I would need to spend about £700 to get privacy glass and steps (steps for medical need)and rear spoiler ..
The 59 reg with 33k miles cost 19k,has every thing apart from arm rest
The 08 HSE cost 18k, 43k miles and i would like to think fully loaded but dealers not put much spec on advert

Now the question is
can arm rest be put in after?.
The other problem is Freelander 2.2 TDV4 HSE.. what do's the V stand for ?

Many thanks for replies Bow down Iain

From what I've learned the HSE model comes with practically everything as standard - check out other ads and they will be the same specifiation. Privacy glass, side steps and spoiler were extra's although if you are lucky, most HSE's seem to have at least one of those options fitted. The 'V' must be a misprint. Regarding privacy glass, try to get one with OE tinted glass instead of film - if you have a dog like I have, it'll soon get scratched off! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Present: Audi A3 S Line.

I was going to suggest that one. Apart from the low mileage, it's still got one year of manufacturers warranty on it. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I think the seat foam has a hole for the arm rest, but the frame and leather doesn't .

Yes I had a look thanks ,But it seem's HSE is way to go,it still has a warranty on a 08 plate really thought it was only 3 years. Iain

LR Manufacturer's Warranty is 3 years. Anything after that is likely to be a Dealer Warranty/Warranty Direct type warranty with exclusion clauses that you should probably check thoroughly.

OEM armrests cannot be retrofitted without modification to the seat base which I think has only be done by a company in Cyprus.

I would tend to go for the newer, lesser mileage model I could afford. If you can get one with LR manufacturers warranty this is best for peace of mind. As far as LR go, the Freelander 2 is the most reliable model, but that doesn't say it hasn't had some faults. Haldex pump problems, rear diff's, clutches and flywheels have been costly for some members.

Thanks for all the help guys.
I am going to look at the 08 HSE 2morrow..working out buy the time I spend money getting the others to the specs that I want I would be spending the same money on HSE with out having to do any thing..other than drive.

So spoken to dearl if it all that he says that will be it..

Thumbs Up Iain

Go as new as possible with LR warranty. I bought an 08 SE with all the bits and it has just cost £1600.00 for an engine rebuild due to a possible oil pump failure! It was 2 months outside of any warranty Sad
These are lovely cars but if they go wrong it can cost a small fortune so a warranty is a must.
Oh and £435.00 for the rear diff pump as well, also outside of the warranty period. So all in all an expensive car.
Toyota is looking to be my next purchase Smile

Regards (GONE) FL2 2008 SE (manual) Santorini Black, the expensive one Sad
(LEFT WITH) 300tdi Defender 90 the cold, reliable & sensible one Smile
