Coming off the back of BBC4 programmes (Danny Baker etc)...

...

What is your favourite David Bowie album?

OK... my vote goes to... Hunky Dory. Impeccable, strong songs, lyrics, committed performances from all. ...

Never been a big Bowie fan, sometimes i could tear my hair out in annoyance - but some of his songs are sheer magic. Life on Mars springs to mind as one example. Very clever and well written.
Must agree i could listen to most of Hunky Dory and enjoy it, but Censored Spiders....... Banging Head

No doubt he's very talented; I sort of lost interest after the great Mick Ronson passed away.........

Hunky dory, I had kooks on the car stereo whilst driving my son from hospital when he was 2 days old

"We bought a lot of things to keep you warm and dry
And a funny old crib on which the paint won't dry
I bought you a pair of shoes
A trumpet you can blow
And a book of rules
On what to say to people when they pick on you
'Cause if you stay with us you're gonna be pretty Kookie too"

"And if you ever have to go to school
Remember how they messed up this old fool
Don't pick fights with the bullies or the cads
'Cause I'm not much cop at punching
Other people's Dads
And if the homework brings you down
Then we'll throw it on the fire
And take the car downtown"

A side of Low album, B side was bit far out for me. pinups was a brilliant take on others music too.

'friday on my mind' reminds me of college days

I saw the glass spider tour, very poor, big country opened up for him and wiped the floor . At work
At home

Crikey... Bowie is one of the two big acts I've wanted to, but never got to, see (Neil Young is the other) and I always imagined that he would command the stage...

Kooks... good choice Thumbs Up ...

Ah, now yer talking. Yes. fabulous band, saw them twice. So good they sounded better live than in the studio. Probably in my best three of bands of all time.

Crimson? Who could ever forget that magnificent album sleeve design 'In the Court of' Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
