yeah have seen the availability of CAB files etc and have gone that way before with other (HTC Win 6) phones where I had a PAYG deal but (for the first time) I have a phone that's tied to a carrier (T-Mob) and run the risk of screwing it. This wouldn't have bothered me previously but since I'm on a 24 month contract with T-Mob I don't want to end up with a U/S handset & still paying out monthly fees.

This is the problem with providers.... I got fed up with this and refuse to buy a branded handset from any one now.

I have a Lumia 610 on a Virgin Mobile contract and got notified of the 7.8 update a week ago. I installed it via Zune without probs.

I was also heading for the "cutting the line trick" to get my debranded LG E900 updated. But I got the update without any tricks yesterday. But the only difference I found so far are the resizable tiles on the start screen and more accentcolors. |
