After bonnet repainting (elimination of some key scratches...) I need to have template for front badge template, in order to correctly put the letters again.

Are you making the badge yourself? Dont know where to find a tenplate, but the font is 'Square 721'. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I got the letters, but i need their location on the bonnet (space from bottom edge, spacing between letters and words...)

Another option may be to replace the letters and buy a new set, they should come on a single backing that will allow easy fixing, worth enquiring with a dealer?

Make a "brass rubbing" off another Freelander.

I'm sure the owner, or better still the rozzers, will be very understanding when you explain what you're doing.  garioch43

I was thinking of buying a new set of letters, or making measures on another FL2

Make sure you spell it correctly too, theres a gap between Land and Rover and its not all one word like the one they did on Wheeler Dealers and Ive seen someone put Hang Over on the front of a Range Rover too

I had the same problem replacing the letters.
I bought a new set, hoping it will have a single backing in order to make the job easier. And it had. But guess what? It was useless.
So I'm afraid you'll have to do it the hard way. At least I had. It took me about an hour to get the job done, but the result made it worth.

Had this problem many times in the trade i spent 23 years in (panel beating)
The best way to do it is to get some 2inch masking tape and stick it over the badge (or some1 elses) with dirty fingers rub over the masking tape,This will high light the outline of the letters.
Once you have a good outline for you to work from remove the tape and stick it too a bit of thin card then with a sharp blade or craft knife cut out the letters and there ya go you have a template

I de-badged my car due to the crap and polish that gets stuck in the letters and made it hard to clean (does not accord with my world of idleness!) but discovered that although the tailgate looks better, the bonnet does not look right without letters. I therefore bought some of these:-

They are slightly bigger than the original letters (easier to clean) and come with a fitting template which is easy to use. I also like shiny stuff! John
