hi mate i preassume you just had the P)!$ pre-heater recall carried out. you need to turn the piece of plastic thats hidden under the leather gaitor and turn it 45 degrees until it drops away from the knob. then litterally pull the knob away. to fit it correctly press the button then re-apply the lever and fit the gaitor. or just take it to a dealer. hope this helps.Richh. they all do that! |

If you mean that the selector's "trigger" button is stuck pressed, then you may have a broken spring inside. The spring that return the "trigger" to the unpressed position. Absolutely great ! I did it. With the help of ad210358 (for the pdf file with the knob removal) and alex (for the Russian method, link 2), I put a regular spring (from the gas pedal of a Renault), bought it with 0.5 EUR !!! I don't know how long it will last, but it was simple and cheap. Honestly, I am more worried about the plastic stuff that lower or lifts the inner stick of the selector than of my new spring... Thank you again, both of you! |

Further to this dated thread, has any one who's experienced this fault ever had a problem with leaving it as it is and living with it? |

Mine has been broken for the last 12 months. Annoying, but doesn't cause any issues

I have this problem just started last week in my 2012 LR2. I have kids and active family and worried someone will accidentally push it up to reverse while at highway speed. |

Over four years no problem but don't have the risk of young children that could be a reason to fix |
