Hi all,

Just letting you all know that I now own my dads 2011 SD4 HSE.

My dad left it to me in his will after he sadly passed away just before the New Year.

On the good side, the car is a blast to drive and I am looking forward to getting the door fixed soon.

Don't worry, I'm don't like driving too fast and I want to see if I can get the optimum mpg out of the SD4. My dad only used to get 30mpg!

Driving the Freelander reminds me of him, so I will be sure to look after it.

Good news from bad news Chris. Sorry about your dad.

I'd be happy with a regular 30mpg but where we live causes problems with consumption. First thing we're faced with in any direction from home is a steep hill with a cold engine. Follow that with tight twisty lanes and 30 is a target rather than an expectation! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

I am looking forward to adventures with the Freely and can't wait to visit Northern Spain and the Paradores in July. This will be its first time on foreign soil (that I know of) and I will try to find some places to offroad.

My dad only chose the Freelander because I said they were good cars and it reminded him of his Discovery 2. It was a nice change to Audi A4s. He also liked it as everything was black, he didn't have any idea on interior design, I had to choose the colour of the walls and furniture in his house!

I will look after his car as it reminds me of him and I will still visit the forum as often as I can.
