We used to have an old power hacksaw at work, that would be your best bet. Biggest thing I cut with it was a 200 mm diameter steel mount from a small hydraulic crane we put on a trailer. That one was 40 years old, and took 45 mins straight to cut through but did a lovely job. You can still get them now. Not sure about petrol powered though.

it was use to make a bridge into a field but i have replaced it with a bigger diameter plastic one, so i need to cut it in half to fit it on a trailer to take it for scrap

A decent size angle grinder as said will make short'ish work of it. |

1000 watt genny will not start a 9in grinder, any less than 9 inch will not cot the pipe, even 9 inch will struggle.

Always been adequate for me
Thank god for that, enough tailbacks with the bad weather drivers let alone a tractor/trailer. |

I borrowed a mates stihl to cut up scrap about a year ago, like a knife through butter, Also much safer than 9" grinder ,no disc snatching or jumping and you stand nearly 2ft further from away the sharp wizzy bits. At work
