How to Remove Drivers Front Pillar Cover ?

I'm assuming its held on by a few clips behind it but before I give it a good tug I thought I would ask on here first as it has 'airbag' marked on it This is so I can run power and sound to my phone cradel to the drivers side near the speaker.

Thanks

Easy to remove...
1 Use small screw driver to ease out the airbag cover from the top.
2 Remove Torx screw (40 - IIRC)
3 Pull off rubber door seal -
4 Ease off plastic trim panel near dash.
5 Gently pull A pillar cover away from top fixing and lift out.

Just take your time and don't force any of the plastic parts as they are easily broken.
I bought a set of ABS plastic trim removal tools from Ebay which come in a tool roll. They work well and don't mark either the trim or bodywork.

Went exactly as russj said.... fyi I droped the cables down the side wall and just over the drivers legs. Removed two screws to pug Tue able behind to prevent it been in the way of the air bag. Finally I ran a long USB and audio down the side of the drivers seat to complete power and sound for my kit. Now in side warming up bbbrrrrrrrr B-)

Can you provide more detail on how you ran the cables from the drivers A pillar to the centre console/passenger side of the car? 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

Using Russ's instructions....

Easy to remove...
1 Use small screw driver to ease out the airbag cover from the top. - ( A )
2 Remove Torx screw (40 - IIRC) ( A )
3 Pull off rubber door seal - ( A & B )
4 Ease off plastic trim panel near dash. - ( C )
5 Gently pull A pillar cover away from top fixing and lift out. - ( A & C )

Just take your time and don't force any of the plastic parts as they are easily broken.
I bought a set of ABS plastic trim removal tools from Ebay which come in a tool roll. They work well and don't mark either the trim or bodywork. ( I have quite a few of these but I found the best one to be a couple of bike tyre tools from Halfords )

Now for the cable

6 Place the cable so it follows the red line ( leaving slack at the top for adjustments )
7 At ( C ) push the cable down a little past to hide it
8 At ( D ) undo ( I did this one by one ) the two torx screws and push the cable BEHIND and fasten back up. This should mean its above the plastic, not in front of the air bag and safe from feet snagging.
9 Follow ( E ) and then ( F ) to route to the power and sound sockets.
10 I have a right angle audio lead and a USB version on the way so all I now need is a flush 1 or 2 amp adapter ( looking for now ) to finish this off..

I hope that helps.

A brilliant post, very useful with the picture. Thanks very much.

What phone cradle you installing? I have a Galaxy Nexus one, which I plan to do exactly the same with (although I will only run the audio cable to the back, I will get power from the glovebox where I have already installed a spare cigar lighter.

Thanks again! 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.
