just had 22k on my rear tyres which are Pirelli Zero-18' wheels
LR is used 99.99% for road use- looking for good wear, MPG, but quiet.
Any 'advantage' any user can suggest from going to Pirelli to Michelin Latitude tyres?

Does it have to be either Michelin or Pirelli as swmbo has just done 30k on a set of Hankook Dynapro and still has 4+mm left or what about vredestein wintrac 4 or for bit extra the quatrac 3 probably cheaper than the latitudes and scorpions too

You had 22k on your rears? If you have that's poor, even the Contis I have which don't wear as well as The Good Years are had managed 28k. Good Years I had early made 40k.

I had 40k on 18" Pirelli's with 4mm left on them, you need to look at alignment, tracking etc?

Car new Oct 11, 22k miles rear tyres almost down to the markers- gauge shows 2mm
Fronts have 4mm
Had thought would have been better I had 30k on last car- Michelin run flats on a BMW- have to say my driving has changed a lot since getting LR thus why I had hope would have got 30k + off the Pirelli's

The original Goodyears lasted well over 40k - changed at around 3mm.
and that's off roading, braking very hard and late, and trying my best to wheel spin from the lights.

Wheel alignment on yours must be well out, or the new 4th generation haldex must be destroying tyres.

The again you could be lending your car to your 17 year old son?

Have you gone through a set of fronts?? If not I fail to see, even if you were the worst driver in Britain how you could do a set of rears before fronts without there being a problem, or you tow all the time?!  Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

I swapped fronts with rear tyres about 5k ago as getting very worn on outer edges which I assumed was scrubbing going around corners
28 yr old son only borrowed for total of 500 miles
No tow bar or towing and as previously said 99.99% main road driving

Personally, I would go Continental Cross Contact UHP's. I got 46000 miles on put the rears and 34000 on the fronts. The edges went before the main tread, otherwise I would have got more.

That was won 235 55 19". I am now on Michelin Lattitude 245 45 20". The Michelins are quieter even on 20's, but time will tell if the wear rate is good. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

The wear on the tyres (originally on the from) was the outside edges- which I put down to cornering - no undue wear on the inner edge.
Evident from your replies that most of you have got much more wear from your 'make' of tyres than I have on original fit Pirelli
Still open to suggestions on what to replace with- stick with Pirelli or ?????

I would recommend the Michelin Latitude Cross. I have had them on the front for about 14 months. Excellent grip on and off road. No increase in road nose compared to the previous Continentals and the wear rate looks very good.

The advantage with Michelin is that Costco is a one brand stockist and sometimes do brilliant deals on sets of 4, 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
