Suggest if the Rear Wiper is not working, pull the fuse out until you get to check it over.

I looked at the idea of stripping the motor and trying to mend it, but a straight swap was easier. Dead easy. |

You would have been ok with it parked with the ignition off, the Wiper supply is only live when the ignition is on |

Don't think parking with the ignition off will fix it. If the rear wiper isn't in the parked position it will try and return it to the parked position with the ignition off, my dad found this when his wiper went funny as it was draining the battery overnight, no fires luckily!

My rear wiper assembly seized due to water penetration... I think there was a leak from the washer hose...

ok motor stripped and re greased, checked signal to motor and that is present.I think my problem is when i have stripped the motor there is continuity through the rotor and brushes/brush gear, the only bit that it stops at is a small grey plastic block ,is this a capacitor or a thermal overload ?if i could get flow through this i would have a circuit and the the motor would work, any ideas guys |

Only part that is different is the length of the shaft to the wiper arm. Take off the yellow wheel and undo the two housing screws. This allows the housing and armature to be removed. There are two contacts, these will separate as they are a push fit only. Just swap the housing and armature
