Hi

Just ordered a Freelander 2, TD4 GS + Front Park + Heated Screen.

Should get it around middle of March, though I'd put up a post as I'm sure I'll be dropping by regularly.

Looking forward to it, sort of, but also worried a little as I've 'experienced' LR dealer service before having owned a Disco 3, the less said about that the better! Although ignoring the 'service' I received the Disco was the best vehicle I ever owned even with the problems that experienced which in fact were nothing major just the dealer making a dogs dinner of the simplest fix/task (like 4 attempts at replacing the wing mirror glass after they broke it!).

So hopefully (fingers crossed) the Freelander will be better built than the Disco and I won't have to toddle off to the dealer too often.

Nuff said

Harry

Welcome Harry

it's a nice car, you have bought you won't regreet it Thumbs Up

I don't think you will have any major problems with it, though a few have had to the odd software update, which I would expect with a new car that depends on electronics. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for replys, i'll post some photos when it comes.

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the relative lack of reported problems on sites such as this and the whatcar reader reviews are great.

So fingers crossed.

The test drive f2 we had was excellent such a huge improvement over the last freelander - which I had on numerous occasions as a courtesy cay when my Diosco 3 was having therapy.

Hi

Picked up car, absolutely brilliant. I'll post some piccies when its clean.

Really pleased, it drives fantastic.

Also good to see LR's improvment in the Autoexpress survey not only for LR but for the Disco and F2.

It seems (touch wood) my reservations about quality were incorrect - well done LR. I've always said if LR get their quality right then they are world beaters - it seems they are doing just that. Parked my F2 next to an X3 the other day - made the X3 look s**t!

By the way is it just the GS or do all F2's wing mirrors fold when you lock the car? Not noticed other F2's with folded mirrors when parked.

Regards

Harry

Had a S Loaner last week and the mirrors did not fold, must be from GS up.

Welcome Harry.

Folding mirrors is on GS and above only. I too had a 'S' Loan car today - Bit of a step down from my HSE, still drove nice though.

Enjoy the FL2 and post some pictures. Freelander 2 HSE Auto TD4. Privacy Glass. DAB Radio. Upper Chrome Mirror Covers. Tread Plates Front/Back. Cargo Net. SafeGuard, Santorini Black, Moon Roof

edh,I call you out, dipsticks at dawn, your choice of venue. Accusing me of being a girl! There is a long standing tradition in British engineering of calling machines which you expect to perform for you by name especially a girls name. Locally, when I was a lad there was a banking engine known by her stokers and drivers as Big Bertha and by heck didn't she puff, pant and smoke as she she shooved the expresses up the Lickey Incline. Mans interface with machine is indeed an intamate thing especially in adversity!
