Let's hope this series is an improvement. To me it seems to be getting past its sell-by date and becoming too formulaic. Presenters' on-screen "personalities" are obliterating the content. It's all got a bit "Master Chef"ish and predictable, with silly games taking over from real journalism. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

I stopped watching it as they always seemed to be testing cars over 1/2 million quid, and how well it could tow a 10 year old caravan around the race track before its wheel shot off.

The content and presenters don't interest me anymore, it's entertainment only and not informative to the car owner/buyer like it should be.

Some of the trips they go on are quite entertaining, but they never seem to review anything which costs less than £100k. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

If you watch it as entertainment rather than from a journalism point of view it's actually quite funny...the trek across Bolivia springs to mind.

I find it a beacon of irreverence and better than many other entertainments. It works because, whatever you think of Clarkson, Hammond or May, they are a great team to watch, enthusiastic, sarcastic, amusing, provocative and informed to a greater degree than many other so called commentators. The cars are not really the point except, I guess, for the heroic Toyota pickup that survived every attempt to destroy it. THAT was great fun. I don't know anyone who didn't find it uplifting... ...

The only reason to watch it will be the show with Chris Meeke in the Bently on a stage of Wales Rally GB, where not only did he get it airbourne As you can see from the picture) but was also doing 120mph+ on standard road tyres, as nobody makes off road tyres in the Bently size.
