Just wondering if anyone had fitted the twin fog lamp pods?

That looks dreadful, the idea is good but that result looks bodged, IMHO

Not sure how you wire additional lights (driving lights etc.) on the FL2 as the traditional way of using a relay and energising the relay solenoid off either the main beam (driving lts) or sidelight circuit (fog Lts) has it�s problems, so I�m told.

I was looking at fitting some roof lights on my roof rack (I know these are illegal ON road, I only plan using these off road on private land). I may wire these independently of the cars wiring loom, straight to the battery to save any problems.

The lights mentioned here I would say would be normally a kit and normally dealer fit therefore programmed into the ECU.

I took on the HUGE install of these lamps the other day. I'm very pleased with their look, functionality, and performance.

I'm assuming they're high beam only rather than extra fogs? (Although this does depend who wires them up ) Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Correct. The wiring harness and instructions are designed to rob the signal from the highbeams and only allow the lights on when high beams are on. One of those pictures I posted is right before I had to plug a little wiring harness in to the headlamp wiring assy. The relay installs in a little space to the right of the battery when the cover is off. Ill take more pics today and put them with the others.

Now you COULD rob the signal from the lowbeams (assuming you wanted to figure out what wires belong to the lowbeams) and allow those lights to be on anytime the lights are but it may be illegal because of the shape of the beam. Foglamp beams are flat and low, while these are round and high. They'd just reflect the light back at u in the fog just like the brights do.

They're frigging bright tho!
