2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue

I would feel ashamed to have left my car parked that far from a kerb. And on the 18"/20" question I'd do my best not to give the money generators (oops, I mean parking attendants) the excuse to get their ticketing machines out of their pockets!!

I can't see how on earth they can inforce that. As far as I am aware there is no hard and fast rule about distance from parking distance in the highway code. May be a local bylaw but there then must be signs put up on every road and street about it. What about motorbikes that park head/tail on facing the kerb????? the other end is well more than that.

How on earth otherwise would a visitor know????? sounds like another jobsworth thing to me
