2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Tambora Flame
leak on the trunk

been through a heavy rain here and suddenly realize that my trunk is wet all over.

i'm thinking if there's a leak on the third brake light (just my thought) because the water comes from the upper trim on the trunk. The rubber strip is ok when i checked it.

the water came frome here..

i wonder if someone has experienced it and would like to share what should i do?

cheers :D

Third brake light leaking is quite common, don't think you can get a new seal, maybe wrong, if its out of warranty you could remove the lights, smear with some silicon sealant and refit, worked for me, never leaked again. Thumbs Up

Silicone grease works OK and is easier to get off. Alternatively, new lights go for about £17 on fleabay. John

mine leaks too when being washed, i dont think the light fits tightly enough against the seal, either that the original seal becomes compressed over time, maybe fitting 2 seals would make for a tighter fit creating a better seal?

Problem is, you can't buy the seals separately. John
