People in waitrose today were buying food like the world was going to end. I really don't get it!!! Why do they feel the need to eat more and drink so much booze at Xmas??? Then spend all of January winging they have eaten and drunk to much. Really grinds my gears, it's one day why the urge to be fatties?!??

Wifes been on a diet for a month so she can pig out over Christmas - why?

Bearing in mind she is 7st 1lb wet through (98lb or 44kg for our overseas readers)

She is STILL running around the shops (2pm Christmas eve) buying pressies for all and sundry - except me Sad Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

We were some of the "people in Waitrose" beyond landy19840'2 belief. However, in our defence the food is not all for us, we are being invaded by locusts (aka the family) for long periods over Xmas! Sad John

Interesting point mudslinger, I do buy some Apple products but the speed at which they release 'new' models is ridiculous.

I had an iPhone 4 until last week when I changed it for a 5 because my contract had ended and I was entitled to an upgrade. Some people cannot wait for a logical time to upgrade however and changed to the 4S and then the 5 just so that they can walk around boasting that they are superior beings to those with the previous model Rolling Eyes Those folks who queue for days just to get the new iPad are stupid imo.

I don't have an iPad and I don't know what Santa has in store but if I had one from Mr Claus and Apple released a newer one in March, I wouldn't bother changing. Change at a logical time is my approach, not change just to say AHA!! My phone/tablet/laptop is better than yours. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I have a 4s and I've not boasted once about it Laughing

I haven't bothered with the 5 as Im happy with this, but then my 7yr old son has just asked for my wife's old 3GS since we dont use it anymore, he was heartbroken when I told him I sold it

That's fair enough. My sweeping generalisation is more applicable to the younger generation such as that lad who spent days sleeping on the street just to be the first person in the UK to have an iPad.

I must say, I was very happy to get £170 for my old 4. Comes in handy in the festive season and I didn't even have to invest in a new bottle of whisky for the decanter because my dad got a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year old at work and because he doesn't like it, it is mine all mine Mr. Green Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
