Returned to my parked car to find someone had just stoved in the rear offside corner of my bumper and driven off without stopping. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Calmed down a bit now. I think best thing for health, blood pressure etc. is to try and shrug shoulders and put it down to experience. I have the money to pay for repairs. I do, however, hope something very bad happens to the perp. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Unlucky fella. This Country is full of shysters, sadly. Hope you can get it sorted relatively inexpensively. Foraging near Gaydon....

Just been out for another look. The dent has spontaneously popped itself out. Bumper looks OK, so just paint to sort. Hopefully Revive! Chap will be able to sort it. 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Paint on a metallic can be costly too, mine need the whole drivers side painting Upto the roof to get it all to match! So be careful |

Get a blackvue on order to record stuff while you are away from car whilst parked. Won't stop it happening but maybe catch the offender bumping your car. |

Was obviously the day for it yesterday - I got rear ended waiting at a junction - thankfully I can't see any damage. Sorry to hear yours is damaged. |

Thats the only reason I've left the tow bar on mine, to give the rear some protection from idiots.

Be very careful The plastic bumper will take an impact and recover. Under the plastic is the bumper proper, this is a sustantial piece of metal that will take a lot of force to deform. The bumper is attached to the car by two sacrificial "crush cans" these are corrogated so that they deform during impact - taking the sting out of the impact. It is VERY likely that the crush cans have been deformed, even at low speeds. Now you have several options, they might not be deformed - do nothing. They might be deformed - but you do nothing, and when you really need them to work they don't. They might be deformed - you take the bumper off, change them and next time you are as safe as original. They might not be deformed - you take the bumper off and check, OK you have wasted an afternoon, safe in the knowledge that you will be safe next time someone rear ends you. As an aside, hit it hard enough and the rear chassis member flattens, along with the plastic bumper mounts - this is VERY VERY expensive, and can write-off the vehicle, the plastic bumper at this point looks perfect. Get it checked Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner |

I agree with Andy, get it checked, similiar thing happened to me years ago and there was no apparent damage at the time, the garage had a look at it and pointed out that the spaer wheel could not be taken out of the well given the deformation to the metal work. The car in question was a vectra. |

SWMBO's 206SW was rear ended in a traffic queue last year. The tow bar (only used for a bike carrier CG) was pushed forward and up so that the tailgate would not open. This deformed the rear floor of the chassis and caused ger car to be written off. Don't know about the Focus that hit her but I hope that the apparently superficial damage to the front number plate meant that the metalwork underneath the plastic had a significant dent in it |
