My RRSport SE is insured with Land Rover which includes offroad use and full cover for anything towed and/or on the roofrack for £210pa - I'm 50 but work in a profession that normally means a loading but LR don't do these things, also car is kept outside - also no loading. I do live in a rural area but have a city postcode, but again no extra because they can do it down to the street. Have insured with them for the last 6 years. I also insure my Defender 90 with them for even less! Having 28 years NCB helps as well!
The only reason I use them is that of all the MAJOR insurers they automatically include offroad cover and unlimited continental driving in the policy - when I asked for quotes from other companies they ran a mile at the mention of offroad use or quoted premiums well in excess of £1000pa - despite my good driving record on and offroad. I'm happy to pay what I pay and know that come what may I can enjoy using my Land Rovers' abilities and know that I am fully covered, even if the RRS doesn't go offroading very often, it does go green laning. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack
Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen
Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green

£360 with Allianz - Fully Comp.

What was interesting though was that my previous insurance for my TD5 Disco which covered modifications and offroading would not cover the Freelander 2, had to change to a traditional car policy Confused

I'm with Esure at the moment. Will shop around next year as Esure doesn't cover off-road use so will try Land Rover or Adrian Flux or anyone that covers for off-road use. ______________________

First post and some advice for what its worth. Took delivery of my FL2 last month and spent some time ringing around all of the insurers. Worst was Landrover (RSA) at £1700 and best was Liverpool Victoria (who also insure my house) at £540! Happy with that.

I am 53 years old and paid £210 pounds fully comp with tesco

517 Censored £'s

Jumped up £60 because the police man took a picture of me doing 38mph.

two accidents with a total of £20000 or there abouts, both none fault, but i am sure they have taken them into account.

LR quoted £640 Shocked with a £350 excess, rang to confirm some details and they said they should have not quoted me, as its a company car, but insurance is in my name (no insurable interest Question )

Funny that Sainbury's have me down and Reg Keeper but company owner and they are fine with it

A little poem i have found

YOUR POSTCODE SAYS ALL

By Josie Whitehead
www.whiteheadm.co.uk

We’ve sussed you out, discovered you –
Know what you read and eat;
Know what you spend your money on –
Also the others on your street.

We know what price your house is –
And your education level –
We know if you’re on God’s side –
Or are guided by the devil.

You’re not the only one we know
For we know your neighbours too.
We know what type of cars you drive –
Yes, we know you through and through.

It’s your postcode that has told us this –
Your postcode’s typecast you.
Perhaps we have been told some things
That perhaps you never knew.

Big Brother’s got his eye on you
So be careful how you go.
Don’t give out your postcode
If you don’t want us to know. "I havn't grown up, I just buy bigger toys"

I think alot of it is to do with not how many claims have been made but the total cost of claims paid out. "I havn't grown up, I just buy bigger toys"
