Team GB award

Think it was right that team GB received regognition last night.
But by Team GB winning the team award, the Ryder Cup team missed out who pulled off a most remarkable victory on US soil.

I still think that the rules for the Team award should have remained the same and an additional 'one off' award given to Team GB.

Your thoughts? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I don't think golf is a sport in my option, it's a hobby!

Golf was meant be be an example of a team with one discipline.
It could have been anything.
Whether you like that particular sport is of no consequence Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I play golf so don't dislike it. It had to be team gb that won, anything else would of landed the bbc more complaints

I don't dispute for one minute that Team GB should have won an award Thumbs Up .
I'm merely suggesting it could have been a special 'one off'.
And retain the rules for a one disipline sports team.

Two awards if you like, but means no one misses out Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

United Kingdom

I agree. There should have been a best non-olympic team award Thumbs Up

Team GB did deserve the plaudits no question. I have just finished watching the Blu-Ray box set of the London 2012 games and it was fantastic. The opening ceremony was awesome and the events thrilling. Never will I forget Super-Saturday with Rutherford, Farrah and the gorgeous Jessica Ennis taking gold in quick succession.

All things considered, London 2012 defeated the critics who said we would crumble and set a new benchmark for the games that even the Aussie press acknowledged despite the praise heaped on Sydney 2000.

I look for the personality in "Sports Personality..." and Wiggins meets that criterion. The whole 'Team' thing doesn't work for me.
Team sport is fine but 'personality' makes no sense in a team...perhaps. ...

So if it's personality you're after...............

How come Wayne thick Rooney won young sports 'personality' of the year Rolling with laughter Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I'm no Rooney defender but :-

1. 'Thick' is one thing, doesn't mean there's no personality present
2. I'm not sure he's so thick.
3. There are very few footballists I would nominate. Rooney would be one that I wouldn't nominate
4. Rooney winning could be an argument against the current format
5. I'd say 'Sportsperson of the Year' and 'Team of the Year' would be a better format
6. As it stands, I would look for personality, but wouldn't include Rooney in the running
7. er, that's it ...

I agree, yeah he's been a tryer for so long but Chris Hoy should have had a look in, certainly before Murray.
