Reduced the value....Complete and utter tosh, for an enthusiast that car is unique, it will command a price far higher than any other of similar age and mileage irrespective of spec, it's unique.

Mmmmm, interesting considering I have a firm offer by my local LR dealer at £13750 just to buy it off me from just 10 days ago. I only went in to get the chassis number off a 2013 MY to ensure I ordered the right fog surrounds. They wanted it because of the work that has gone into it, and that it would be a £14995 car on their forecourt and hey have buyers waiting for decent sub £15k FL2's with decent spec, also because it is something different and would attract buyers. They loved it also because everything done is using Land Rover parts. Most dealers are struggling to find decent stock of older Freelander 2's in decent condition as people are tending to hold on to their cars longer, and there is a massive boom in SUV sales at the moment. Regarding insurance, do you think I am stupid? Of course they know about EVERY thing on the car, and if it is damaged in an accident, the parts get replaced like for like. Not just back to original spec. I one of my 20" wheels get damaged for example, it gets replaced with another 20" wheel. You really need to get a grip and up to date with things. Alot has changed in the last 50 years! I do this sort of stuff because I enjoy it. I worry about what the car will sell for when the time comes. As that time is not now, I don't care if it is worth £5 or £50000. Your comments are total rubbish. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Its an amazing offer which I considered very carefully. But I would only swap it now for a 2013 FL2 HSE SD4 and you know how much that would cost at the moment, and as we have just ordered a new caravan. Changing the car will have to wait maybe another 12 months or 2 years. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. as long as mods are fitted properly and original parts used then dealers should pay well for such a car. its mods using after market parts that they dislike.

Body colour door mouldings was considered. But as they are there to protect against other people's doors, I would be worried about the paint being damaged easily as it is not a solid surface. I kind of like the contrast though. It looked too busy when the door handles were black, but now they are body colour I like the look. I used Poor boys professional polish, Poor Boys Black Hole glaze and Do Do Juice Super Natural Wax. So I do keep it nice and clean. I am just sitting at my LR dealer while it is having it's 6 year 90k service (although it is on 56000 miles), and the technician just came out to me and said it wants for nothing and is in an incredible condition for a 6 year old car. There is not one thing that looks even close to needing addressing. I mentioned the airbag lifting up at the top, and he said it won't effect safety at all, but it is up to me if I change it as it is purely cosmetic. So I think I will change it at some point. I might add that is I found a used car for sale with modded front end etc I would be suspicious that it had been crashed or stolen and stripped for parts at some time. I would buy it eventually but not without some more confirmations of its history, This weighs against the fact that if it is genuine its obviously from a car nut and will be a good buy.

Fair point.. Handles do make a big difference.
Good amount of elbow grease too! I never understand the difference between all the different polishes, glazes etc. I was going to say they were a good price too, until i googled the dodo juice
I'm not 'purely cosmetic' is something that rings well with you. Of course you will change it You make me feel lazy about cleaning my car. I am by the way, but after seeing yours I now want to clean it. I just usually lose motivation after the soap bit BTW what do you do the first wash with, your cars look white and caked in it!
