My 07 always said this too when cold, regardless of battery condition. As AD says, it's just a quirk.

It doesn't matter how much charge you might have in the battery. Cold situations affects how the battery will perform. the colder it gets the less usefull power is available to start the car. Different batteries have different optimum operating temperatures.
Every battery has its fail point. take the temperature below this and you will have little or now output.
Modern day cars have voltage sensitive electronics and will only work with in a certain voltage range. This said, the battery moitoring system will display a message stating some fuctions not available as the voltage would be outside of the operating range of that system. As the temperature rises the voltage will increase and thinks will return to normal.

I am sorry this is not a landy issue but reading this has made me think. My better half has an 04 plate Peugeot 206 and when it's cold she gets the engine management light on in the morning from cold but it's fine after that. I suspected low battery output was the problem.

My 56 plate has done it the last couple of mornings too, However, it's also come up with the following message 'Reduced Engine Performance'! I've switched off the engine a couple of times then switched back on and then it clears - was well worried, I've only had the car 8 weeks! Shocked

HDC side of things in normal, the reduce engine is not

Have a look at charging the battery, or see if any faults have been stored

They have been doing since the FL2 came out, always when cold and been stood over night

Message comes on, goes off and stays off, you'll be able to switch HDC on too straight away

if it stays on, or the i is lit on the dash display, scroll through to see what the info message is Thumbs Up

No, you are doing it right. It's normally the last reading after MPG etc.

Thanks for the advice - I noticed the 'i' on the dashboard and pressed the button but it just scrolled through the usually MPG, TRIP etc - didn't see any error's.
Will check the charge over the weekend and see if it's low or not...

I did get 6 months warranty when I bought it at the end of Oct, so if it continues I'll take it back to have it looked at.
