A Quick Question on Tyres

Posted a topic a few weeks ago about new tyres for swmbos FL2, decided to do it correctly and get the tread depth tool out, here are he findings.

TYRE. INNER. MIDDLE. OUTER
NSF. 4mm. 5mm. 4mm
OSF. 4mm. 5mm. 5mm
NSR. 6mm. 5mm. 4mm
OSR. 6mm. 5mm. 5mm

The tyres are Hankook Dynapro 235/65/R17 done 20k ish from new

Questions are

1. What are your thoughts on the wear pattern
2. Do I change them for new tyres for the winter, if I do looking for Wintracs 4 or avon ranger ice

Thanks in advance

Fronts under inflated, rears worn on outer edge, possibly enthusiastic cornering, given the one is more than the other, roundabouts do that.

They are borderline for winter if your thinking snow but would be perfectly adequate for the job given the FL's capability.
They have 10-15k left in them which the bulk may be in better weather.

A quick answer but just my opinion.

Paul

yeah I would agree with Taz on the inflation/driving style, the legal limit here in sweden is 3mm for winter tyres but I wouldnt be seen out in the snow with less than 5.

IMO keep the Hankooks for Summer and treat yourself to some Wintrac 4's.
Fitted mine last week and can't believe the difference. Thumbs Up _________________

That's what I was thinking of doing keeping the hankooks and fitting some Wintracs but the problem is I would either have to get a spare set of rims or keep paying out to get the tyres changed over.

Andy agree mate the Wintracs from what I have read both here and the D3 site are a really good tyre only problem with buying from you is logistical which is a shame, yep I can pop round and pick some tyres up as I am in London but then I have to get them fitted up here in Yorkshire as I don't think swmbo would be too impressed at putting her beloved FL2 up on bricks for a week until I return Rolling with laughter

You could always try to pick up a cheap set of wheels on eBay and fit winter tyres to them.

WRONG WHEELS!!!! When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Those tyre wear figures look very good considering they have covered 20,000 miles. I Replaced my original fit contis at 20,000 with 2mm remaining and I always drive sensibly but very few motorway miles.
