Edit pinky took a shortcut
MY 13 tailgate the same as previous versions.
Lots of threads on here, below are my instructions, some come up on eBay occasionally, it's a case of persevering and one will come along.
Well worth it, the car will look finished when its done
I fitted one, the instructions on Topix are pretty poor, simple pictures but they give you an idea.
Here is how I did mine.
Clean the two areas of the tailgate where the spoiler will stick to, with alchohol or similiar, I actually used nail varnish remover but not ideal as you dont want it on the paint long, you are only removing the wax/polish etc so a sound surface is there for sticking too.
Remove the two clips either side of the spoiler bracket, a T25 Torx is needed for this. DO NOT remove the sticky pad covers yet.
Position the spoiler up to the tailgate and look and feel how it fits, it is extremely light in weight so it is easy to hold. I then made marks around the edges of the spoiler on the tailgate with a dry wipe marker pen, I found this easier than marking a centre line which only gives one reference point.
get used to offering up the spoiler at a angle onto your marks and rotate forwards into position, you get one shot at this as once the sticky pads take hold they wont let go.
Once your happy with positioning, remove the sticky pad covers, place the spoiler gently just in case, step back and confirm your happy with position, press the outer ends of the spoiler firmly onto the car, at this point you can give it a quick tug, it will not budge.
Fasten the two clips either side and job done, it took me 10 minutes max. There is a picture in my gallery showing the gap along the bottom edge you need to aim for, basically put your thumb on the tailgate and rotate the spoiler up,
Straightforward and simple just dont rush and get the feel with a trial run first.
