All companys will respond differently id assume, You can tell then you have a 150bhp model and you have had it changed to the 190bhp model. How they work out calculations for your insurance im not sure.

Some companys have done it for free, some a small charge, some a large charge. you will need to investigate with yours to be sure.

To be fair, there is always talk about such things and that they are far fetched. Now if this thread was about the 190 going up by this amount, then I would doubt it very much.

But as already explained by Pete, this is a tuning option for the 190 which is transposed over to the 150 as well. So in reality, you could argue you are getting more bang for your buck tuning a 150.

Vauxhall tuners had the same doubters back in 2005/2006.

Vauxhall fitted the 200bhp Z20 LET engine to the MK5 Astra in 200bhp form, and also in 170bhp form. So when a tuner offer a map to take the 200 to 240, it was accepted widely. But on the 170 it was a 70bhp increase. So the doubters started rubbishing it.

I am surprised that the 190 has been taken to 228? But then again it is the later engine and not the early 160 which from what I understand, around the 200bhp mark is as far as you would want to take it. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Sorry for barging in, but from what I know, one major difference is that the turbo has an additionally water cooling circuit.

It is interesting to know if this water cooling circuit is also added to the 150PS version in the 150/190 range of engines...

Here is a postive made on the other forum that may be a valid question and of some interest here also.

Since im sat writing hundreds of files for the new Evoque and Freelander 2 BAS remap interface I had a thought, Would it interest the owners of the SD4 190bhp 4WD cars to also have with the remap tuning an option to switch to a factory level 150bhp for shear economy ? used for daily comute to work ?

Im more thinking of this because as we know the 190bhp car is nothing like good on fuel and this may be a nice option to have with a remap, this then gives you the best of both worlds, a full power tune and a super eco tune if needed ??



PS @ the 150bhp car owners, you are not left out as ill be doing you a OEM190bhp tune as well as the full power tune
