Which battery to go for ?

Ok so I did a search and couldn't find any information on what I wanted so just wondering what you guys thought about the yellow top optima battery ? Is it worth the money or should I replace it with an exide one at 88 pounds ?
Or even a bosch one ? When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

I was thinking as to what battery to fit,the one on the FLR is 80 ah so will find one of those but what make and the price range is huge.Is it worth £200 for one or will a Exide at £83 be any different.

An Exide 80Ah is standard fit (on mine, at least), so assuming that's the one you're talking about it should be perfectly adequate unless you have particularly demanding power needs.

Eurocarparts doing 15% off batteries at the moment and 25% off other parts. Also money back when you return old battery. It's an e-mail offer so if you can't find it pm me and I'll forward it.
The Exide is a direct replacement for the LR original, and only a few pounds to upgrade to the higher rated one.

iI always ignore discounts and special offers , just get the best price you can.

discounts/special offers are just a gimmick to get you in , the final invoice is the right price!

Not sure if its correct with the Land Rover batteries? but I was told at BMW MINI that all new batteries they fit, if they have a black casing they are gel batteries, and white casing are the older lead acid type.
The black gel types are much more expensive, are standard on their stop start models now, give better power output for their size, last longer and you dont get the leakage problem and thus corrosion it presents, so the gel type is the one to go for these days

No! The AGM battery has different charging parameters and should only be fitted to replace a similar (they will have AGM stamped on the label). If you change the type fitted you must have the ECU reprogrammed to the other charging pattern!
