shiney privacy glass

Our water is very hard so leaves loads of streaks on the glass, what's a good product to shine privacy windows with?

Try and get hold of the Flash Car Wash System, dont use the soap part, just the filtered water part.

I also live in a hard water area and was forever gettting water streaks, tried the flash unit,V.impressed...

cheaper than £45 filter units you see for sale...

and

for cleaning glass , Meguiars glass cleaner or auto glym glass cleaner, both good products. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway Grey, Black interior, privacy glass

I wax my glass with normal paint wax (Note: DO NOT WAX ANY GLASS THAT HAS A WIPER-BLADE ). The Side privacy glass comes up excellent...and it stops the muddy-water sticking to the glass too!

I also wax the wing-mirrors...& headlights....makes the water bead-up & run off, instead of sitting on the glass & obscuring the view.

I've been doing it for years.....but I repeat DO NOT WAX THE FRONT SCREEN OR THE REAR SCREEN THAT HAS WIPERS-BLADES MOVE ACROSS THEM '57 FL2 GS

Apply Rain-X to ALL of your windows, plus the front and rear screens and mirrors. This beads the water and the wind / slipstream blows it off. In heavy rain at 60+ mph you won't need your wipers on at all and your vision will be better than if they were on. I've used it for 15 years, just reapply it every couple of months or when it's performance deteriorates. It's a bit like Star-Trek, the tiny beads just fly up the screen! Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

Save all your bother and get someone else to do it for you Whistle

I always polished all of my windows including the front and rear and never had an issue with the wipers smearing....but maybe that was down to the polish I was using ?

It looks a lot better than polished black any day of the week. Infact, it looks better than black anyway, polished or not Laughing ______________________

Well it beats polishing a turd (read black vehicle) doesn't it Laughing

The only reason for the polish the car here is to make sure that he doesn't wear off the paint when he washes it 4 times a week!!!

Sometimes I wonder why bother washing cars here at all, because within minutes of it being all sparkly its covered in dust again!!!

Shocked

Got to disagree with you there...Black definatley has the ability to show of a cars lines...(When its polished/clean....looks average when dirty)

Of all the colours, I think Silver has to be the worse...I dont understand why its so popular in new cars sold? (Luckily, FL2 Grey has a bit of Depth to it)

Ive never seen ANY car look good in silver...Silver just has the ability to turn any car in to a bland Euro-box-on-wheels....like 80% of the cars in the UK.
OK, Silver easy (apparently) to blend/match, if repair is needed....but its not a colour thats for me.

But the FL2 is a great tool, whatever the colour Thumbs Up '57 FL2 GS

Agree on that. Black can be awesome when cleaned and polished well, and shows a cars lines like no other (standard colour) in my opinion, but will show up all of the imperfections.

My Audi looks like real crap when it is even slightly dirty, but when it is cleaned and polished the car looks great day or night.

So I got some rain-x and tried it out on my pickup which needs new wipers, and what do you know it rained! I'm going to buy some sunny Delight next Laughing .

The rain-x does work nicely, should be even better with new wipers (I had to buy these on the internet due to an odd shortage of wipers in my local town)

Rain-x is too good it makes the wipers squeak , maybe this will improve when the rainx is a bit less fresh
