Try spraying a bit of silicon spray around springs/ dampers, worked for my squeak! |

You could be onto something there - typicaly I was over-thinking the problem! Still, if anyone has any other thoughts I'd love to hear them...

Yes agree could well be the brake pads if yours are still the original. The was a problem a few years back where the pads delaminated when wet causing a squeal with the symptoms you describe - happened on mine |

easy job, get spare discs and handbrake shoes before you start too 50:50 chance you will need them At work
