Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Mauritius Blue
Supply to Dealers

I was informed by a dealer today that LandRover plan to cut back on dealers car allocation from the start of the new year which I suspect is to support the demand from the Far East.

The car is built here yet we appear to be the only country not allowed to buy a petrol and now they are choking the supply.

Are we the mugs? Question MY13- TD4 XS Mauritius Blue, Privacy glass, Cold climate pack, Tailgate spoiler, Armrest pack, LED signature, Body side mouldings, Full size spare and finally Mudflaps

GONE - MY11 TD4 HSE LAGO GREY Privacy Glass

GONE- 08 GS Stornoway Grey Privacy Glass
GONE- 07 GS Stornoway Grey Privacy Glass
GONE- 04 Silver

I see what you mean but don't think we are mugs, we are simply small fish in a big pond.

Victims of our own success you might say, I still find it strange that both LHD and RHD cars come down the line, many plants only make RHD models at certain times, if that happens we would wait even longer and possibly with reduced choice.

You might even find it stranger then that at launch the Freelander came down the same trim & final lines as the X Type Jag saloon & estate in left/right derivates. The current build mix sees Freelander & Evoke 3 & 5 door not only do the same but also are built through the Body shop down the same lines. This is due to a lean manufacturing process used by all major car manufacturers.

That used to be true, but not anymore. Modern line technology and JIT makes it possible as is build to order Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
