Fridge freezer water dispenser not cooling water

Bit of a long shot here but worth a try! My water dispenser on my american style fridge freezer has stopped cooling the water. Does anyone know how these things work? Everything else works ok. Im just curious if its a big job to fix? Any domestic enginners out here? lol

Cheers all!

water is cooled in a tank behind the salad drawer, water has to go through this tank to reach the dispenser, if its coming out warm then your fridge isnt working. if its stopped flowing the tank is frozen, soak tea towels in hot water and repeatedly lay on the tank until thawed.
probably means you have a fault such as a failed de-frost heater. in the panel behind the tank

Above is for samsung, I bought a new heater about £30 on ebay

ebay actually has some good guides on repairs, written by sellers, I cant remember where I found out, google probably.
The guide on samsung fridges gives fault finding guides then recommended parts to fix the cure. quite honest really as it guided me to a cheaper option of replacing one heater rather than replacing both heaters and a sensor.

fiddly job though as all the parts where bonded together with thick ice and the usually farmer big hammer technique didnt apply At work

Thanks for all your replies!!

The fridge side is warm so the reservoir is not getting chilled. Think the fan might have gone but not sure, bit of researcing and I might be able to fix it!

if its a samsung with 21 in the model no. then the fan will be clogged with ice, hardest part is removing the fan cover without breaking stuff due to the alarming amount of ice in there, you might even see ice escaping form the air grids in the cover At work

Its a Daewoo FRSU20DCI. I had my electric trip out 4 times last weekend. Elctrician checked my electrics, they were ok. Electrician said chances are it will be the fridge. I think it will be the motor that blows the air around. Like Mr George says it will probabley be clogged. Nice little job at the weekend!!

you should hear the fan start up a few seconds after closing door or pushing in the switch that turns out the light.

or empty fridge except a few beers and put a child in to see if light goes out and fan starts when you shut the door. the child can easily be trained to hand you a beer everytime you open the door At work

Thanks Mr G, tried your trick with the door switch and the top fan works. I think there is a fan at the bottom i need to check next.
