H7 Bulbs

Halfords are currently doing a 'two for one' on their Ultra Brilliance bulbs reputed to be 'up to 120% brighter'. So you get two for just under £30, but they are not advertising it much. They do work - the difference is very noticeable. Worth doing at half price I think.

Just fitted 2 pairs of Osram Nightbreaker Plus H7s to my car at £12.70/pair, so all four bulbs for £25.40 free delivery.

Also fitted 2 x 8 LED 501 T10 W5W wedge CANBUS NO ERROR Side lights for £5.48 inc delivery. Not tried the headlights yet but the side lights are amazing, as good as daytime running lights. Very Happy Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

Where from XXtrail?
I have LED sidelights but a little disappointing during day, not very visible beyond a few metres, have you any pics?

They look like the ones I have, mine came from the same supplier, maybe I am too critical of them and expecting too much.

I tried the side lights when I had fitted one side and it was extremely bright, the standard bulb on the other side looked like a torch with the battery going flat by comparison. Could be a batch problem, are all of the LEDs illuminated? Were they like you said from the start or have they deteriorated in any way. Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

There still the same as they were as far as I can see, might try and get a picture tomorrow, straight on from the front.
I noticed the other day when I was in the fuel station, I left the lights on but they weren't very good, certainly unusable as DRL.

I'll try my lamps for real tomorrow and see what photos I can get too!

Do you know if anybody has fitted LEDs in their rear clusters, as I've been trawling the topics but can't identify one that covers this.

I'm assuming that you'd need red LEDs for brake/running light bulbs and amber for indicators, as the colours might look pink and yellow if the LEDs are so bright. Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

Front lights with thiose LED's fitted, night time they are OK but daytime are not worth the effort as they are to all intents invisible.
Maybe some high power Cree led's and a diffuser behind the glass?

Hi, I see what you mean on yours. Mine seem brighter to me. Added a few pics to gallery.

In the photo that shows the side of my wife's car you can see the white reflection of the sidelight on my wife's white car.

In the full-on nose picture they're showing glare to each side of the car.

In the other shots the brightness has darkened the rest of the images. You can see it's still light by the inverted roof top reflections in the headlamp reflectors.

Are you sure that yours were Xenon bulbs? Was GS TD4 Auto, Privacy, Santorini with Tundra & Alpaca, Cold Climate Pack. Traded for Discovery Sport HSE Auto.

Your LED are definitely brighter going by those pics, mine are the same ones appearance wise 8 LED in total, 4 forward and 2x2 to the sides.

Will have to have a look around for some more and stick those in the interior.
