yes I find this attribute very useful and a safe way of negotiating situations where you are a bit unsure of the terrain.

I used it this weekend passing a horse and rider on a steep hill which would normally require some welly.

It has the same system so it should...(unless you're talking about starting without a foot on the pedals) Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

No, I'm of the opinion that when the lorry driver braked and the defender's anti stall kicked in, that the FL2 would not sit there attempting to drive its wheels, it would stall.

Isn't this 'magic' anti-stall just the fact that a diesel engine runs with a high enough idle for the low range torque of the gearbox to have enough drive to move???

I believe it also will increase revs too, try it driving up a hill from starting on a level surface |

Just done some very unsentific testing, if you release the clutch with your right foot not touching any other pedals the car applies revs and maintains a crawl, as soon as you touch the break or the accelerator the revs drop and it is possible to stall. Makes it very smooth pulling away... Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black |

it wouldn't pull this anyway it has no low range gears When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

If your in 5th gear on a fairly flat road mine seems to run along at 30mph, spot on when going through villages

chalk and cheese anti-stall will keep the vehicle from stalling in most situations. HDC will slow the car down. |

Difficult to stall an auto anyway - one of the many benefits. All my previous 3 Pajeros would creep along nicely without accelerator pedal in first or reverse - brilliantly useful when manoeuvring the caravan on-site. Don't know why anyone tows with a manual 'box when auto makes it sooooooooo easy. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
