You can always buy just the video cord from the US seller. Thats what I did. I purchased the GVIF from eBay and it came with the wrong video cord. Then I contacted the guy from navvideo here in the US and he sold me just the video cord. It was cheap!! Cuatro Por Cuatro |

can you not just make some kind of circuit with a switch to turn of the camera and cut the nav signal :S When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

Due to the high frequencies used in video signals it gets a bit complicated. A simple switch would massively degrade the image on the screen.

The second link doesn't look like the cable I have. So it might not be the correct one. Take in mind that when i purchased my GVIF it said it will work on LR vehicles. I believe the Freelander is the only one that has the video connection different from other LR vehicles. Cuatro Por Cuatro |

Pls, did anyone other than 4por4 succeed in installing the reverse camera, TV, audio, video etc? I am interested and would like to know all the components required and a ofcoz a detailed step-by-step instruction on how to execute this. Like my Morroccan friend, Arese, mine is currently in Africa and to say d Nav Screen has been useless is to say the least. |

I've just ordered the cable from NavVideo in the US and the rest of the necessary hardware (camera and GVIF) from hids4u.co.uk based on the information here.

I bought the same camera, at least it looks the same, as 4por4 installed, but I bought the wireless transmitter/interface. I'm hooking mine up to a Magellan 1700 GPS unit that I'm going to mount in the non-NAV cubby hole to fill up that empty space.

I have been looking for a GVIF interface in the US and I came across this thread which suggested a website for NAVVIDEO but I think this site might be down or re-named perhaps.
