Hitting deep water at speed

Urgh, I did a silly thing last night. I was looking out for a deep puddle on a back road on the way home. In the heavy rain I couldn't see any puddle so I assumed there was no flooding. The trouble was, the puddle didn't exist because the whole road (300m) was under water. I hit it at 35mph or so.
I cacked myself. It felt like hitting a brick wall.

Anyway, it could be used as a road rage technique....

lmaoooo When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Oops I did that when we had the really bad rain the last time, I made the mistaken assumption if I can see the road markings the water must not be very deep. Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

You should go down the slipway in a Lifeboat.

Was it a large life boat?
