Be careful, the MIL was going around a Roundabout when another driver at the next entry point came straight out and into the side of the MIL, admitted they were in the wrong at the scene but also said that the MIL was at fault for not indicating which exit she was taking Neutral so she saw the MIL and as she wasn't indicating, drove into the side of her Rolling Eyes a few days later the MIL received a letter from the other insurance company claiming on her as the woman who drove in to the side of the MIL stated that she was stationary and the MIL was going so fast round the roundabout that see has lost control and slid in to her Shocked the MIL said she was happy to go to court to prove otherwise and the other party dropped the claim.

I now have a in car camera ! Thumbs Up

I hope it doesn't take that long! All I want is to get the car fixed and not lose my no claims bonus. I don't even car if I have to pay for the car to be fixed myself!

I would definately ask your insurance company to write off your FL2 so that you can get another one in a proper colour Whistle

She claimed that her car had bad brakes but she was just driving too fast. Now need to get insurance and get the drivers and rear door fixed. Only got the car in July!

Chris

Firstly, I am not sure whether you mean bimbo, birdbrain, biddy or the worst of all bicyclist but I think it's best I just pick one rather than you answer ! Whistle

Secondly, I am sorry to hear of the crash. and I hope the damage isn't too severe. It's the inconvenience and hassle that makes this type of incident so frustrating.

Thanks, I'm just glad that she didn't hit me any faster. Then the car would of been a write-off. She has caved in the drivers door slightly so it might need a new door panel.

Just hope it isn't too much hassle.

Chris

Been talking to a friend up near Carnforth this evening, she was hit back in September, insurance company have been in contact stating the other party has changed her mind and my friend ran into her.

This is very strange as the car my friend was driving, as it passed a junction must have suddenly moved to the left and struck the other car which was allegedly stationary at a junction.

Too many dishonest idiots about, or dishonest insurance companies wanting clients to retract admission or that slimy scum of a self financing profession known as solicitors. In car cameras will become more popular, I would tell someone I had on, even though I don't, it may stop them trying it on.

I tend to think it is the other persons insurance trying it, if they can get you to take part of the blame it will go as knock for knock halving the payment the other persons insurance have to pay.

I read in my handbook about a data recorder that is installed in the FL2. Does any one know how it works? Can it be used as evidence for insurance claims etc?

can only be access by the main dealer, not sure if you can just ask for them to give you the data or what the score is I am not saying it is your fault, I am simply saying that I am blaming you.

It would be useful but I'm not sure about them tracking everything you do.

All the data recorder does is record at what speed certain things happpen. For example, if the airbags deploy it records the speed the vehiclee was travelling at the time of deployment, what sensor what activated by the impact. It's not as much of a black box as say an aircraft version. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Yeah, not a full blown 'black box recorder' but enough to incriminate you if at fault, or to favour you if not at fault.

Hopefully everything will be ok. Just hope the insurance do split the blame as there weren't any witnesses.
