Not for me thanks hate fairy lights on cars - fine on Xmas trees. If I need some extra light on country lanes I put the front fogs on which help to identify the edges of the road and where the ditch is. |

Fair comment. However, unless there is fog about are you not technically in breach of the law? I think chrisdeeming is in pursuit of the old problem of how to fit additional legal driving lights to a FL2. For what it is worth, unless someone comes up with a really good solution, additional lights on the front of a FL2 are always going to look like fairy lights on a Xmas tree! If fitted to a car they are deemed to be "Auxillary Main Beam Headlights" under The Roads Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989. Schedule 5 Part 2. There is no height stipulation in the Regulations regarding Auxillary Main Beam Headlights therefore the lights can be fitted at any height from under the bumper to above the roof. |

I don't need to identify the edges I wanted a longer beam of light to see whats coming ahead of me fog lights if correctly installed only light up road close to the vehicle. As for them looking like fairy lights its not as if they are those crappy drl which are on all the time it will be for a practical purpose on dark road, plus no one would ever see them but me unless i was an idiot and drove round with them in incorrect situations. If you start sticking lights anywhere on the front on bars or whatever isnt that similar to the old bull bars thing, and how you have to now have the car front nice and smooth so any pedestrian slide up the bonnet and over the roof so the car behind runs over them instead?? |
