2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Sumatra Black
Freelander 2 Cental Locking Problems

Hi all,
I have a Freelander 2 HSE Auto on a 58 plate. The car has been working fine until i tried to go out about 1hr ago. The remote central locking wouldnt work so i couldnt get into the car. I tried a spare fob but no luck. i drove the car today with no locking/unlocking issues. Any ideas please? Thanks.

Flat battery may be, can you turn the lights on using the fob.

Really weird, tried it about 15 minutes ago and it now works.

I had this once on my Disco 2. Never did it again and I never found out why. Some people have mentioned interference from wireless building alarm systems as a possible.

Had exaclty the same thing happen to me.
Alex and I put it down to EMC, there was no other explaination. This was several months ago and it hasn't happened since. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

ElectroMagnetic Compatability. Or EMI, Electromagnetic Interference.
Where radation from another souce can block or cause disturbance.
Fortunately, such occurances are rare.
This could explain why it's not happened since.

There are some known 'hotspots' in the UK. Blackpool South Shore Airport was one some years ago. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

This happened when the Trafford centre frist opened,some cars parked in certain areas of the car park couldn't open thire cars
and all the break down services did was pull the cars away from said area and all was fine.

This happened when the Trafford centre first opened, some blokes cars in certain areas of the arcade couldn't open their wallets and all the women did was ask their men to take 'em home and all was almost fine.

had the same issue but with my alarm constantly going off if i parked it in a certain part of the works car park, since being allocated a diffent bay alls fine
