United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

I dont know what all the fuss is about MPG. I am not being funny, but you dont buy a 2.5 tonne 4x4 for the economy. My theory is that if you have chosen a car, you have to pay for the fuel and insurance. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Mav71, I know where you are coming from but it is not quite that simple. I for one went down the route of a FL2 partly on the economy issue as I was coming from a 2.5 ton Defender that did 25mpg to a 2 ton FL2 which does a lot more, and how much more was of interest to me.

BTW I am very happy with the 40mpg I manage on a long run! Very Happy John

I'll be happy if I get anything over 40mpg on my 62 mile round commute. Mostly M-way at 70mph so should acheive that after its run in a bit... (150 Manual on order)
Kuga currently does 43 against 47 combined official and its done 17.5k miles. Happy with that Thumbs Up * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

I appreciate what you are saying. I just found it unbeleivable that a guy near me, sold his perfect 57 plate HSE FL2 with 19000 miles on it for a brand new HSE TD4 (4wd) because the mpg was a little better!

Your case is different, I appreciate. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

He must have more money than sense to change car on basis of MPG alone Censored * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Narvik Black

Turn the aircon off Wink I can get 2 - 3 mpg more in my on a run with air con off! Thumbs Up

Problem is it smells when I turn it on as it needs a service so I just forgo the fuel.

Over 20k miles per year it is a saving of less than £200... I'm not going to loose any sleep. Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

high output FL2 190? Engine

Just read the complete thread; I wonder if the 190 engine is different to the 150?
Ive just installed a replacement engine in my 2010 FL2 2.2.
The replacement engine came from an unknown source as 'ex test', its build date would be around April 2009, it was spotless and clearly its never seeen a car but specifically was tagged as a Landrover FL2 version as opposed to PSA group.
There were many differences to my original engine
1/.25% bigger Garret turbo with water cooled centre bearing
2/.Stainless Steel exhaust manifold
3/.inlet manifold without the vacuum operated swirl flaps
4/.different EGR cooler with vacuum operated inlet flap at the exhaust INLET from the exhaust manifold.
5/.Different part numbers on the Injectors.
The engine had laboratory temperature sensors in the water system and inlet manifold.
I wonder if my engine was a factory 190 development engine?
I installed all my original anciliary parts to the replacement engine as I dont need or want 190; ive now listed all the parts spare in the for sale and wanted section.
The engine came complete with full clutch so I unbolted and fitted the Automatic Flexplate flywheel, other than that the manual and Auto engines appear the same Thumbs Up 2010GS Auto ex Celeb, Santorini Black, 2011 facelift , spoiler, spats, mudflaps, LED footwell lamps, Witter detach,

You are to be congratulated on undertaking and succeding in such a big task.
I used to tackle 'A' series engines years ago, but not todays PSA!

Well done Sir! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

You are talking about/describing a 190 PS engine.
That one has vacuum actuated EGR and water cooled turbo.
