France 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Narvik Black
iPod/iphone installation with Cubby Box

I decided to fit a cubby box to put a few odds ' sods in and at the same time tidy up my ipod installation. I know this subject has been done to death but this is just another take on it.

I bought the cubby box (with leather top) for vehicles with factory armrests as mine is a 2007 HSE. It is quite small and neat. I then drilled a 10mm hole in the side and fitted a rubber grommet. I passed the USB plug and jack plug of an iPod lead through the hole (I had to file the hole a tad to get the USB plug through), screwed the cubby box in place and then plugged the USB into a USB power adaptor in the power socked and the jack plug into the Aux. socket. The result is that I can leave the iPod or my iPhone plugged in and be out of sight. I also have a double USB socket should I need to charge the phone a s well as run the iPod. Sorry about the photo quality (done with my phone in fading light). I took a duster to it all after the photos!

Nice!

Do you unplug your charger ever? I always felt that it was a mistake making the rear socket unswitched.. Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

I don't leave it plugged in all the time.....only when I am in the car. I just "lift" the plug slightly to turn it off. Yeah, a switch would be nice! John
