Yes I suppose you can use winter tyres all year round but will be pointless in away, winter tyres are of a softer compound so will wear quicker when the weather warms up, they lose their winter effectiveness when down to 4.5mm so you will only get one good winter out of them, leaving them on all year will mean if you do average mileage you will need to get another set for the next winter. I'm about to to put my Vredesteins on, this will be the third winter they will be of use and I expect at least another winter out of them before they will be down to 4mm. |

Apologies, I thought were were discussing Freelander 2, you can use them all the time, but they lose their effectiveness when down to 4mm, then you run them out in the summer. They come with 9mm once 5mm has gone they are no good for winter, 40k and still good for winter |

We can go on ad nauseum about winter tyres, we should also bear in mind that in this time of austerity, how many cars are on the legal limit and will be throughout the winter.

I have four 235/65x17 Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme DA's available, DA stands for Deffective Apearence which will be a very minor cosmetic mark on the tyre somewhere, which we can't find by the way. Still fully guarenteed by Vredestein. Price is £456.00 inc vat fitted or £408.00 inc vat collected. Andy.
