Just been browsing the net for some tyres and I see that from yesterday all tyres have to show 3 symbols now, fuel efficiency, wet braking and noise. A couple of the cheaper tyres I saw were supposed to be more fuel efficient. Do you think its all rubbish or do you think people will now buy tyres with regards to these little symbols? |

It's farcical, the Goodyear Wranglers which people on here swear buy get rubbish ratings E for rolling resistance and E for wet weather stopping. |

The main problem is it's all self regulated so Dunlop rate their own as Goodyear do their own and so on and so forth.

There's no reason to believe that quite a few people will make their buying decision based upon the information on these labels.

Does anyone know of any good posts on here regarding choosing tyres? I will need 4 next year, I only do 5000 miles a year and no of roading. Mostly around town driving. I know you get what you pay for but to me (not an expert!) some of the budget tyres according to the symbols seem good value? |

110dB was Concorde on take off I heard. so your tyres are just a bit quieter on that basis. |
