Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

Had 2 5's over 9 years, I sold my last one in March and still kind of regret it. Supercharged my first one and that would give a Boxster a real fright Cool

They are pretty reliable cars, but used UK ones can be prone to rust, not a problem if you're buying brand new.

The folding hard top has a bit more wind in the cockpit than the soft top with the roof down for some odd reason, must be aero related. I can put the soft top up and down faster than 12 secs, much faster if it's raining Smile

There's a kit available to install that lets you use the power roof on the move, it's about 100 quid and well worth it.

Have a look on http://scottishfivers.forumup.co.uk/ for a friendly bunch of Scottish MX owners.

Wales 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Ours is sixteen years old now and never missed a beat. They do suffer from corrosion when older, but as said before, not a probelm if buying new.
Great car though. Nothing is so much fun to drive.
My tip?
Can you still get a seperate hardtop? We wouldn't be without ours. it's kept the ragtop in good nick throughout the winters. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

thanks again for the advice guys.

what amazed me with the folding hardtop that it didn't retract into the boot space at all, for some reason I had this idea in my mind that if the roof was down you couldn't use the boot !!

and also the boot was a bit bigger than I imagined.

and the smooth operation of the roof reminded me of a Mercedes like quality !!
